Job summary

SKF in Barendrecht, NL is seeking a Marine Service Technician to travel internationally and act as SKF's technical representative on-site, delivering installation, maintenance, diagnostics and repair on propulsion systems.

Qualifications

• Vocational or technical qualification in Mechanical Engineering or Marine Engineering.
• Sound understanding of rotating equipment and mechanical service activities.
• Good command of English, both spoken and written.
• Dutch language skills advantageous but not essential.
• Ability to read, interpret and work from technical procedures, manuals and engineering drawings.
• Willingness to travel internationally on a regular basis and work flexible schedules.

Responsibilities

• Install equipment and propulsion components including alignment and installation.
• Disassemble and assemble bearings, seals and couplings.
• Perform condition monitoring and diagnostics: laser alignment, vibration analysis, 3D metrology.
• Implement corrective actions on-site where required.
• Support in-situ machining on bearing seats and housings.
• Prepare clear, professional technical service reports and act as on-site SKF contact.
• Maintain high standards of safety, quality and customer service.
