Job summary

Johnson & Johnson in Leiden, The Netherlands, is seeking a Scientific Manager Lab (Data) Systems to lead the Leiden‑based data systems team within CGT's Analytical Development. The role drives validated data platforms, data integrity and global stakeholder alignment across Leiden and US sites.

The position focuses on digitalization, automation, and data traceability to accelerate drug development, with hybrid options considered case‑by‑case and onsite presence in Leiden.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required in a relevant field (Biomedical Science or Data Engineering).
• 10+ years of experience in data systems in a laboratory environment.
• Detail oriented with a quality mindset.
• Can‑do mindset capable of delivering in a complex organization.
• Excellent stakeholder management skills.
• Experienced people manager (5–10 years preferred).
• Fluent in English; Dutch is a bonus.
• Willingness to travel to the US about 10–15% (quarterly).

Responsibilities

• Global implementation of validated data systems to increase data availability, quality and traceability.
• Lead the Leiden-based Data Systems team (1 Team Lead + 3 members; potential expansion).
• Oversee the Local equipment team (2 direct reports and external LCM team) to ensure data integrity.
• Maintain data systems in a compliant way and participate in GMP audits.
• Ensure global alignment and buy‑in from stakeholders and management.
• Perform master data configuration through the team.
• Implement automated data capture from analytical equipment into data systems.
