Job summary

Meltwater is seeking a hands‑on Manager, Compliance & External Reporting to join its global Compliance & External Reporting team in Amsterdam. You will report to the Director and collaborate with Senior Manager on group audits (US GAAP and Dutch GAAP) and statutory audits across IFRS and local GAAPs, plus support internal controls and accounting policies.

The role emphasizes 80% time on audits and reporting, with 20% on internal controls.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of relevant external audit/external reporting/technical accounting experience with progression to Manager.
• Big 4 experience strongly preferred, ideally with multinational clients.
• Professional accounting qualification (CPA/ACCA/RA/ACA) strongly preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of US GAAP and/or IFRS; experience researching accounting guidance and drafting memoranda; Dutch GAAP a plus.
• Experience coordinating group and statutory audits in multinational environments with external auditors.
• Good understanding of internal controls, including documentation, walkthroughs, and testing.
• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite preferred) and audit/compliance tools.

Responsibilities

• Support execution of US GAAP and Dutch GAAP group audits with Director and Senior Manager.
• Coordinate audit activities and deliverables with Finance and internal stakeholders across regions.
• Assist with planning, documentation, issue resolution, and follow-up for audits.
• Support improvement and standardisation of group audit processes.
• Coordinate statutory audits across EMEA, the Americas, and APAC under IFRS and local GAAPs.
• Prepare statutory financial statements and manage deadlines across entities.
• Maintain audit calendars and identify upcoming requirements and risks.
• Research technical accounting matters under US GAAP, IFRS, and local GAAPs; draft memoranda.
• Assess accounting treatments and assist in policy development; discuss with external auditors.
• Support internal control design, walkthroughs, and testing; drive remediation with owners.
