The role

Are you the bridge between Business and IT? Do you excel in optimizing engineering processes through innovative applications? If so, we want you! As a Functional Application Specialist, you will support the engineering functionalities in our Computer Aided Design platform, with a special focus on Cadmatic Hull, across the product lifecycle process. You will drive efficiency and effectiveness across our engineering processes, making a tangible impact on our projects.

Key accountabilities

In this role, your responsibilities will include:

  • Translate engineering business needs into functional specifications for the application developments.
  • Analyze issues collaboratively with stakeholders and devise solutions.
  • Develop and implement application processes and functionalities.
  • Maintain relationships with suppliers and knowledge partners.
  • Manage interfaces between applications and Cadmatic Hull.
  • Maintain user access rights administration within the application.
  • Setup and configure project environments within Cadmatic Hull.
  • Manage catalogs, libraries, specifications, and other project related data setup.
  • Organize application-related training courses in coordination with the Manager Engineering Support.
  • Provide functional support to PLM/CAD users with regards to Cadmatic Hull.
  • Prepare and develop Cadmatic training materials, tips, application documentation, and user manuals.

Skills & experience

We are looking for candidates with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree or proven competence in engineering, preferably in the field of Shipbuilding.
  • Proficiency with Cadmatic platform.
  • Knowledge of PLM principles and experience with functional application management is preferred.
  • Excellent command of the English language, with proficiency in Dutch being advantageous.
  • Ability to work in Vlissingen and Schiedam locations, in The Netherlands.
  • Excellent references antecedents as a pre-employment security screening is standard part of the recruitment procedure.
  • Permanent EU citizenship and passport are both required and candidates with NL/EU (work) visa or with both an EU and non-EU nationality and/or passport are not eligible in accordance with the requirements imposed by the military nature of our projects.
