Job summary

Hoek group is seeking an Assistant Handling Manager to lead daily logistics operations for fresh flowers and plants. You will supervise the shop-floor team, optimize staffing, and ensure on-time, damage-free processing from cold storage to dispatch.

In addition, you will monitor deadlines and step up as Acting Handling Manager when needed, while driving continuous improvement across workflows and reduction of loss and lead times.

Qualifications

MBO/HBO level of working and thinking (or equivalent).
Demonstrable leadership experience.
Experience within the floriculture sector is an advantage.
Proficiency in Dutch and English.

Responsibilities

Manage the shop floor team daily, ensuring optimal staffing and workload distribution.
Oversee correct, damage-free processing of flowers and plants, including cold storage, packaging and dispatch prep.
Monitor auction and transport deadlines to keep schedules on track.
In the absence of the Handling Manager, assume leadership and decision-making responsibility.
Contribute to continuous improvement of logistics workflows to minimize loss and lead times.
