Job summary

Nuclear Energy Organisation Netherlands (NEO NL) in the Netherlands seeks a Financial Controller to own technical accounting judgement, statutory reporting, and period-end close processes. You will ensure accurate financial statements, liaise with auditors and tax advisors, and align reporting with EZK requirements.

The role requires presence on location and focuses on responsible, compliant financial reporting across government-aligned categories and internal controls.

Qualifications

• Experience in statutory financial reporting and external audits.
• Strong technical accounting judgement and ability to prepare position papers.
• Familiarity with Rijksbegroting-aligned reporting categories is a plus.
• Proven ability to design and maintain internal control frameworks.

Responsibilities

• Lead the preparation of annual statutory accounts and filings; primary contact for external auditors.
• Provide technical accounting judgement and establish accounting treatment positions.
• Manage month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close schedules.
• Translate statutory financials into reporting categories for EZK and Rijksbegroting.
• Design and maintain internal control framework and drive process improvements.
• Contribute to performance improvements of reporting templates and ERP systems.
