Job summary

Michael Page is recruiting for a large international bank in Amsterdam for a Financial Control professional. You will prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports, ensure compliance with banking regulations and internal controls, and support balance sheet reconciliations and financial close activities.

You will also assist budgeting, forecasting, and FP&A processes, analyse financial performance, and provide actionable insights to senior stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.
• Several years of experience in Financial Control, Accounting, Audit, or Banking Finance
• Strong understanding of financial reporting and internal controls
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Experience within Financial Services, Banking, or a regulated environment is highly desirable
• Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with finance systems/ERP platforms
• A proactive mindset with a continuous improvement approach

Responsibilities

• Preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports
• Ensuring compliance with banking regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls
• Managing balance sheet reconciliations and financial close activities
• Supporting budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes
• Analysing financial performance and providing actionable insights to senior stakeholders
• Working closely with Risk, Finance, Compliance, and Audit teams
• Identifying opportunities to improve reporting processes and financial controls
• Supporting internal and external audits
• Contributing to finance transformation and process optimisation initiative
