Nebius is an Amsterdam-based leading cloud infrastructure company building a full-stack AI cloud platform. The Financial Controller will own the month-end close, ensure financial accuracy, and manage statutory and indirect tax compliance across EU entities, with Finland as a primary focus area.

Qualifications

Role Overview

The Financial Controller is responsible for owning the month-end close, ensuring financial accuracy, and managing statutory and indirect tax compliance for assigned entities. The role requires strong analytical skills, ownership, and close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. To the Financial Controller will be allocated entities from several EU countries with Finland as a primary focus area.

Key Responsibilities

• Own and execute the month-end close, ensuring accurate and complete financial data.

• Analyze variances, explain key movements, and monitor financial trends.

• Support complex and non-routine transactions (e.g., large deals), assessing their impact on local financials and coordinating with Tax and Legal teams.

• Maintain and execute statutory and tax compliance activities (VAT, CIT, regulatory and statistical filings, financial statements, local audits), including maintaining a clear compliance calendar.

• Submission statistical reports to government authorities.

• Post and document statutory and tax adjustments in the ERP system.

• Ensure accuracy and consistency of financial data across systems (e.g. NetSuite and local reporting tools).

• Coordinate with Tax, Legal, and external consultants to ensure timely and accurate submissions.

• Coordinate with local and group external auditors during audits and reviews.

• Ensure compliance with internal controls (SOX controls) and maintain proper documentation.

• Identify and implement process improvements and automation opportunities.

Key Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in general accounting or financial reporting.

• Experience in a Big Four firm is a plus.

• Strong knowledge of IFRS and local GAAP.

• Experience in multinational or multi-entity environments.

• Familiarity with statutory and tax compliance processes.

• Experience with ERP systems (NetSuite is a plus).

• Advanced Excel skills and strong analytical mindset.

• Proficiency in English is required; knowledge of Finnish is a plus.
