Job summary

Workwize is seeking a Finance Intern to dive into the finance world and support the finance team with day-to-day tasks that keep the business running.

You will work closely with the Business Controller, gaining hands-on experience in the month-end close, financial analysis, and reporting, while learning how a scaling finance function operates.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or Business.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Comfort with Excel and working with data is helpful.
• Interest in learning month-end close, variance analysis, and reporting.

Responsibilities

• Support the Finance team during the month-end close and with invoicing, reconciliations, and other close tasks.
• Assist in variance analysis (budget vs actual) and margin reviews under guidance.
• Answer finance-related queries from clients and internal teams and direct to the right person.
• Help prepare management reports and supporting data as needed.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely, accurate financial tasks.

What you will learn

• Financial close best practices: Learn how a finance team runs a structured month-end close and what it takes to report accurate numbers on time.
• Data & analytics: Dig into financial data to support variance analysis, spot trends, and help the team turn numbers into insights.
• Cross-functional collaboration: Work alongside operational and commercial teams to understand how their work flows through to the financials.
• Financial systems & tooling: Gain insight into the accounting and reporting tools a multi-entity company uses to manage its finances.

Key responsibilities

• Support the Finance team during the month-end close, assisting with invoicing, reconciliations, and other recurring close tasks.
• Help prepare and perform variance analysis, such as budget-versus-actual and margin reviews, under the guidance of the Business Controller.
• Assist in answering finance-related queries from clients and internal teams (e.g. Customer Success), helping to resolve and route them efficiently.
• Help prepare management reports, ad-hoc analyses, and supporting data as needed.
• Collaborate with various teams across the organization to ensure financial tasks are completed accurately and on time.
• Currently pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field (or have a strong interest in these areas).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills, with a willingness to learn and grow.
• Comfort with Excel and working with data is helpful
