Job summary

Syntegon Technology, Weert site, seeks a dedicated Field Service Technician to strengthen its service team. You will perform installation, maintenance and repair of specialized equipment at customer sites and the Weert facility, while diagnosing issues and guiding customers on operation and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Perform installation, maintenance, and repair work at customer sites and the Weert facility.

• Assist with final assembly, testing, and commissioning of customer-specific machines and systems.
• Provide technical support and guidance to customers, ensuring understanding of operation and maintenance procedures.
• Document all service activities, repairs and maintenance work with precision.
• Collaborate with internal teams to communicate customer feedback and identify improvements.
• Adhere to safety protocols and regulatory standards during on-site activities.
• Travel to customer locations as required.

As the Center of Competence for vertical form-fill-seal machines within the Syntegon Group, our Weert site develops and produces intelligent and sustainable technologies for packaging a wide range of food and non-food products. The portfolio includes both stand‑alone machines and system solutions.

We are seeking a dedicated and meticulous Field Service Technician to strengthen our team in Weert, Netherlands. In this dynamic role, you will form the technical backbone of our customer service operations. You will combine work at our Weert facility with visits to customer locations to ensure optimal performance of our equipment and systems. You will work with advanced technology whilst building strong relationships with our customers, delivering exceptional service and innovative solutions to keep business operations running smoothly.

• Collaborate with internal teams to communicate customer feedback and identify opportunities for continuous improvement
• Adhere to all safety protocols and regulatory compliance standards during on‑site service activities
• Travel to customer locations as required, remaining flexible and resilient in a dynamic working environment
• Analyse equipment performance data and provide recommendations for optimisation
• Provide support with induction and training of new team members as required

• Completed MBO level 4 qualification (or equivalent) in mechatronics, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field
• Demonstrable experience in field service, equipment maintenance, or technical support roles
• Strong problem‑solving and diagnostic skills with the ability to analyse complex technical issues
• Sound knowledge of mechanical and electrical systems
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills combined with a customer‑focused approach
• Ability to read and interpret technical documentation, schematics, and manuals
• Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and test equipment
• Flexible approach, willingness to travel internationally, and ability to adapt to changing priorities
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Problem‑solving mindset with a results‑driven approach to achieving objectives
• Valid driving licence and willingness to travel to customer locations
• Demonstrable commitment to adhering to safety regulations and quality standards
• Desirable: Experience in the food and beverage industry, manufacturing sector, or industrial equipment sector
• Desirable: Familiarity with vertical filling and sealing machines or similar specialised equipment
