Job summary

SIG Group is seeking a Field Service Engineer/Technician for the Benelux region. You will service SIG filling lines and related equipment at customer sites, performing preventative maintenance and on-site troubleshooting.

The role requires 5+ years in field service, strong mechanical/electrical/mechatronics background, PLC knowledge (Siemens/Schneider), and willingness to travel across NL/BE/D e Europe. Dutch and English fluency are essential; German is a plus.

Qualifications

• Completed vocational training in mechanical, electrical or mechatronics engineering.
• At least 5 years in the service sector, preferably field service.
• Strong basics in mechanics, control and automation technology.
• Experience with PLC engineering and motion control, preferably Siemens/Schneider Electric.
• Excellent customer focus and proactive, effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Ensure efficient operation of SIG packaging equipment and lines at customers.
• Plan, coordinate and perform preventive maintenance per procedures.
• Analyze and resolve mechanical, electrical and automation malfunctions.
• Identify root causes and document detailed problem descriptions when needed.
• Manage daily maintenance, troubleshooting, reporting to customers and Service Back Office.
• Modify SIG equipment and install/relocate SIG filling lines as required.
• Provide production support to keep lines operating with high customer satisfaction.
• Train customer personnel on filling machines and SIG components.

You may be our new

Field Service Engineer/Technician Benelux (m/w/d)

Key responsibilities

• Ensuring the most efficient operation of our filling machines, applicators and other SIG equipment, naturally taking into account economic and technical aspects.
• Planning, coordination and execution of preventive maintenance activities to a high standard and in accordance with our prescribed maintenance procedures, ensuring the most efficient operation of the equipment.
• Analyze and resolve malfunctions both mechanical, electronic and also automation.
• Perform systematic analyses to identify the root cause of problems and achieve a permanent solution or prepare a detailed problem description if the cause cannot be identified.
• Implement and manage the daily activities required for maintenance, troubleshooting/fault finding and repairs including clear reporting to customers and our Service Back Office.
• Conversions, modifications and optimization of SIG equipment as well as installation of new, and relocation of existing SIG filling lines.
• Production support at the customer's site to keep the line operating as efficiently as possible, thereby maintaining a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Training of customer personnel in the use of filling machines and applicators, as well as other components supplied by SIG.

You Bring These Skills, Experience & Education

• Completed MBO/HBO vocational training in the field of mechanical, electrical or mechatronics engineering.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in the service sector preferably in field service.
• Good basic knowledge in the field of mechanics and control and automation technology.
• Experience with PLC engineering and motion control systems, preferably from Siemens and Schneider Electric.
• Strong customer focus and excellent, proactive and efficient communication skills.
• Flexible attitude and willingness to travel (Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, Europe).
• Excellent Dutch and English language skills, both oral and written. Good German language skills is a plus.
