Job summary

Smiths Detection in the Netherlands seeks a Field Service Engineer to troubleshoot, install, service and repair Trace and X-Ray equipment at customer sites with a focus on Schiphol, ensuring first-class customer satisfaction.

Based on site and in a shift pattern, you will document inspections, manage parts cycles, provide technical support, and collaborate with Senior FSEs while upholding health, safety and environmental policies.

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting, field repair or technical support for electrical/mechanical systems.
• Computer literacy and ability to use MS Office.
• Advanced English and Dutch, both written and spoken.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent client service orientation and ability to handle stress.
• Self-motivated and reliable.
• Willingness to work in a shift pattern.

Responsibilities

• Meet daily service repair needs and drive customer satisfaction.
• Install, repair and maintain Smiths equipment at customer sites; provide customer training as needed.
• Document all inspections, maintenance and repair work promptly.
• Manage repair parts cycle time; order, install and return parts efficiently.
• Review logs for open issues; prepare formal client reports.
• Maintain and calibrate tools and test equipment.
• Provide technical support to client and peers.
• Participate in site surveys, pilot programs, special projects and meetings.
• Establish and maintain close relationships with Senior FSEs and Product Managers.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental policies.
• Communicate technical information clearly to management and other service departments.
