Job summary

Tangent International Global is seeking an experienced Telecom / Fibre Backbone Engineer to support critical telecommunications infrastructure projects in the Netherlands. The role focuses on fibre backbone, transport and mobile network environments, performing maintenance, installations, upgrades and troubleshooting with independence and high quality standards.

Based in the Netherlands, you will coordinate with remote teams, interpret engineering documentation and ensure successful project

Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Telecom Engineer, Fibre Engineer or Backbone Engineer.
• Ability to work independently at telecom sites with minimal supervision.
• Experience supporting telecommunications infrastructure and fibre optic networks.
• Knowledge of telecom operations, maintenance and field engineering practices.
• Experience reading and working from technical drawings and network documentation.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to execute technical procedures and follow engineering instructions.
• Based in the Netherlands and available to start immediately or on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Perform onsite technical work across telecom backbone, transport and fibre network environments.
• Install, maintain, troubleshoot and support telecommunications infrastructure and equipment.
• Execute fibre patching, testing, migration and backbone network activities.
• Perform network infrastructure upgrades, equipment replacements and cabinet swap projects.
• Analyze fibre measurements and network performance data to identify issues and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate with remote engineering and operations teams to execute project activities.
• Interpret technical drawings, network designs, patching diagrams and engineering documentation.
• Ensure all field activities are completed in accordance with project plans and quality standards.
• Support network commissioning, testing, migration and acceptance procedures.
• Maintain accurate records of completed work, testing results and site documentation.
