Job summary

Hamilton Barnes Associates Limited is seeking a Critical Facilities Engineer to join a live data centre team in the Netherlands. You will work hands-on with UPS, generators, cooling systems, and BMS, keeping critical infrastructure running 24/7.

You will be part of a tight-knit shift team, manage alarms, perform preventive maintenance, and support safety and efficiency initiatives while collaborating with subcontractors and cross-site cover.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 2 / City & Guilds or equivalent apprenticeship in electrical/mechanical discipline.
• 3+ years in a similar critical facilities or building services role; data centre experience preferred.
• Comfortable with rotating shifts (2 earlies, 2 lates, 2 nights, 4 off).

Responsibilities

• Maintain critical plant (UPS, generators, switchgear, cooling systems) to agreed service levels, including monitoring and responding to BMS alarms and carrying out emergency repairs
• Manage shift handovers, reporting, and maintenance records/work orders, ensuring continuity across the rotating shift team
• Coordinate spares, subcontractors, and Permit to Work controls, including RAMS and QHSE compliance checks
• Provide customer-facing operational updates and elevate risks, while spotting opportunities to improve efficiency
• Support health & safety compliance, toolbox talks, and cross-site cover as needed

• Comfortable with rotating shifts (2 earlies, 2 lates, 2 nights, 4 off)
• Strong English communication, Dutch a plus

Salary

• €68,500 gross/year
