A complete application in a minute — tailored resume and cover letter, ready to send.
Dutch Institute for Fundamental Energy Research (DIFFER) in the Netherlands invites a Master student to join a project on the evaluation of redeposited tungsten microstructure under transient loading. You will operate at DIFFER facilities such as Magnum-PSI, performing nano-indentation and SEM analyses to understand material behavior under plasma-relevant conditions.
The internship emphasizes hands-on research supervision, collaboration within a multidisciplinary team, and the opportunity to

Such a layer could be at risk of delamination and flaking into the core plasma, which could cause a disruption. This project aims to furtherunderstand the re-deposition process and the properties of the re-deposited material.

You will study the thermomechanical response of the re-deposited layers to thermaltransients to investigate how they behave under representative loading. This will give important information about the expected formation and performance of the re-deposited tungsten layers.
