Job summary

ARCNL is an interdisciplinary research centre in the Netherlands located at Amsterdam Science Park. This postdoctoral position aims to identify optimal plasma conditions for EUV light generation using a 2µm laser, combining fundamental physics with industrial application.

You will join ARCNL’s Source Department to design and execute experiments, working with cutting-edge laser technologies to study light emission and plasma dynamics. Collaboration with PhD students and postdocs is expected.

Qualifications

• You have (or will soon obtain) a PhD in (Applied) Physics.
• Knowledge of experimental laser and/or plasma physics is an asset, especially if combined with strong hands‑on laboratory skills.
• Programming experience, particularly in Python, is welcomed.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English are required.

Responsibilities

• Design and execute experiments in EUV plasma physics.
• Work with advanced laser technologies in an interdisciplinary team.
• Contribute to understanding emission of light and ions from laser-generated plasma.
• Collaborate with ARCNL researchers to advance EUV light sources.
