Job summary

Defenced is seeking an experienced Ethical Hacker who loves solving complex technical puzzles. You’ll perform penetration testing of web environments, assess vulnerabilities in critical systems, and even run social engineering tasks as part of engagements.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, 5+ years in ethical hacking, strong knowledge of security solutions, hands-on Kali Linux, scripting skills (Bash/Python/PowerShell), and certifications such as GPEN, OSCP, OSWE, or OSEP.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree completed.
• 5+ years of ethical hacking experience.
• Strong understanding of security solutions (firewalls, proxies, IDS/IPS).
• Hands-on experience with Kali Linux or custom distributions.
• Proficiency in Bash, Python, or PowerShell.
• Certifications: GPEN, OSCP, OSWE, or OSEP.
• Strong Dutch and English communication, written and spoken.
• Opportunity to grow into a leadership role within the Red Team.

What You'll Be Doing

No two days are the same for a Defenced Hacker. One day you’re penetration testing a complex web environment, the next you're assessing vulnerabilities in traffic control systems at a busy intersection. To wrap up the week, you grab your hack kit and see if you can talk your way into a company as part of a social engineering assignment—only to then dive into testing their internal network.

Sounds like a tall tale? Not at all. This is everyday work for a Defenced Hacker.

Your Skill Set

A completed Bachelor’s or Master’s degree

Proven experience in Ethical Hacking (5+ years)

Strong conceptual understanding of security solutions (e.g. firewalls, proxies, IDS/IPS)

Extensive hands‑on experience with Kali Linux or custom-built distributions with curated toolsets

Proficiency in at least one scripting language such as Bash, Python, or PowerShell

Relevant certifications such as GPEN, OSCP, OSWE, or OSEP

Strong communication skills in both Dutch and English, written and spoken
