Job summary

AP Moller - Maersk is seeking an Equipment Operator to optimize equipment and container flows, maintain stock levels, and improve forecast accuracy and dwell time performance. The role emphasizes efficient vessel utilization, cost management, and strong collaboration with depot suppliers.

Responsibilities

  • Build the Equipment Flow strategy based on import/export flow analysis to meet depot customer needs.
  • Own forecast accuracy for assigned pools; translate demand signals into reliable equipment plans.
  • Ensure 8-week planning in ROCK for inland and ocean legs; highlight deviations and take corrective action.
  • Review vessel empty allocation with Ocean Flow and MOD, considering local needs and capacity.
  • Update ACA to support the booking process.
  • Keep stock within targets via daily stock monitoring per pool.
  • Command equipment supply across transport modes; manage inland execution and inventory control.
  • Coordinate inland delivery to meet forecast and export bookings.

Equipment Operator Responsible for optimizing equipment and container flows, maintaining appropriate stock levels and equipment availability, improving forecast accuracy and dwell time performance, and ensuring efficient vessel utilization. The role also focuses on cost management, customer experience, and effective cooperation with depot suppliers.

Key responsibilities
  • Build the Equipment Flow strategy based on import/export flow analysis to ensure customer needs are met at depots
  • Own forecast accuracy for assigned pools; ensure demand signals translate into reliable equipment plans
  • Ensure 8-week planning in ROCK is in place for both inland and ocean legs; highlight deviations and initiate corrective action when required
  • Understand and review vessel empty allocation with Ocean Flow and MOD, factoring local needs, limitations, and capacity
  • Ensure ACA is updated to support the booking process
  • Keep stock within TSL (stock compliance) aligned with regional targets through daily stock monitoring per pool
  • Own and manage supply/evacuation of equipment across transport modalities timely and accurately
  • Coordinate inland execution — deliver stock and inventory control at inland locations/ports meeting approved forecast and export bookings
  • Reduce dwell times and long-standing; collaborate with EMR to drive vendor performance management ensuring quality units
  • Monitor key performance measurements on stock, vessel utilization, flow balances, costs, empty allocation and repair capacity to decide on optimal positioning
  • Understand and own all costs related to own pools; monitor storage costs and drive end-to-end cost saving initiatives
  • Deliver high customer experience — right equipment, right condition, right time — balancing availability vs. cost
  • Manage relevant systems to ensure data quality; coordinate with CEN EQU team on projects and tool enhancements
  • Take active part in performance reviews, cost reviews and deep dive analysis
