Adyen is seeking an Engineering Manager for the Data Delivery Platform in Amsterdam. You will lead a cross-functional team focused on how data reaches customers, including file generation, transfer, and the reconciliation experience for merchants.

You will drive architectural standards, collaborate with Product and Design to deliver high-impact features, and balance innovation with operational excellence in a global enterprise environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams with people management, mentorship, performance coaching and conflict resolution.
• 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience with modern backend/frontend frameworks, UI platforms, or merchant/customer facing products.
• Proven ability to balance innovation with scalable, production-ready systems.

Engineering Manager: Data Delivery Platform

The Data Delivery Platform team owns how data reaches our customers, not what the data means. We own the mechanics of every surface: file generation and transfer, the reporting framework, the dashboard shell, and the backend that runs it. We bridge complex backend financial data with intuitive, merchant-facing workflows, building critical systems like our Reconciliation Experience, where merchants can seamlessly inspect, manage, and reconcile their numbers with absolute accuracy.

As Engineering Manager for Reporting Platform you lead a cross-functional team. Our team operates at the intersection of innovation and scale. We act as an experimental hub, doing active research on emerging technologies, while ensuring we build a high standard, scalable, and sustainable platform that supports global enterprise merchants.

What You Will Do

• People and Team Leadership: Act as a dedicated mentor and coach to grow engineering talent. Handle extensive people management, headcounts or hiring, talent development, and navigate complex team dynamics or conflict resolution with empathy and clarity.
• Balancing Innovation and Scalability: Lead an experimental, forward thinking team while ensuring solutions are robust, elegant, simple, and scalable for millions of global merchant interactions.
• Merchant facing Architectural Guidance: Set architectural standards across our merchant facing UI and configuration platform. Drive research into modern technologies, benchmarking tools, and engineering best practices.
• Reconciliation and Merchant Experience: Partner closely with Product and Design to deliver high impact features (such as financial reconciliation interfaces) that minimize merchant friction and elevate trust.
• Operational and Technical Excellence: Raise the bar for software creation, reliability, testing tactics, and production monitoring. Lead cross team discussions, pay off technical debt, and ensure accurate time estimates on complex, cross stream projects.
• Stakeholder Alignment: Translate complex frontend and architectural capabilities into clear, actionable outcomes for both technical and non technical stakeholders across the company.

Who You Are

• Experienced Engineering Leader: You have 5+ years of experience managing engineering teams with a track record of handling people management, mentorship, performance coaching, and conflict resolution.
• Proven Technical Background: You have 7+ years of hands-on software engineering experience (ideally focused on modern backend/frontend frameworks, UI platforms, or merchant or customer facing products) with a deep understanding of scalable design patterns and system architecture.
• Experimental yet Pragmatic: You encourage continuous learning, benchmarking, and prototyping with new tooling, but know how to turn experiments into stable, high quality, production ready systems.
• Complex Problem Solver: You excel at breaking down large, ambiguous product needs (like complex financial reconciliation workflows) into clear, actionable engineering roadmaps.
• High Engineering Standards: You take ownership of code quality, performance, and documentation, helping engineers around you avoid unnecessary operational overhead.
• Product Minded: You think deeply about customer journeys, usability, and business objectives, ensuring your team deliverables align with company wide goals.
