Job summary

Smits Nursery in Molenschot (near Breda) is seeking a Container Field Assistant to ensure the field runs smoothly and to support the care of plants and order preparation. You will work outdoors among plants and machines, maintaining neatness and quality in a dynamic environment.

You will contribute ideas for process improvements and collaborate with colleagues to deliver products across Europe, with opportunities for hands-on learning in machining and field operations.

Do you like working outdoors and working with plants and machines? As a Container Field Assistant, you will ensure that everything in our field is right. From care to dispatch. From overview to execution.

You work daily among the plants and trees, keeping the field tightly organised and making sure everything goes according to plan. Meanwhile, you think along, see where things can be improved and pick up on it.

Smits Nursery is a leading, international nursery with 85 employees and an area of around 200 hectares. From our location in Molenschot (near Breda) and our branch in England, we deliver plants and trees daily for projects throughout Europe.

We work with a specialist range for the high-end segment and are known for quality, craftsmanship and a down-to-earth mentality. With us, no fuss, just deliver good work together.

What will you do?

No two days are the same. You are active in the container field and make sure everything runs smoothly:

• Caring for plants and trees to keep them in top condition
• Weeding and keeping the field neat and orderly
• Planting and setting out plants in the container field
• Preparing orders for shipment to customers at home and abroad
• Working with machines (or learning to do so) to make work more efficient
• Contributing ideas on how to improve work processes and planning
