Visual Productions BV, based in Haarlem, is a dynamic technology company specializing in architectural lighting control. We seek an Embedded Software Engineer to design, develop, and optimize firmware powering our lighting controllers.

You will collaborate with hardware and firmware teams to deliver high-performance embedded solutions, ensure robust testing, and maintain code quality across platforms. Relocation within the EU is welcomed as we foster an international environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Master degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Proven experience in embedded software development, preferably C/C++ & ARM-Cortex
• Solid understanding of microcontrollers, microprocessors, and real-time operating systems (RTOS)
• Experience with hardware-software integration and debugging
• Familiarity with communication protocols such as UART, SPI, I2C, Ethernet, etc
• Knowledge of low-level hardware interfaces and peripherals
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., GIT) and Agile development methodologies is a plus
• Proficient in English (Dutch is not required)
• Living in the Netherlands or within the EU and willing to relocate

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement embedded software for lighting controllers
• Collaborate with hardware engineers to define system requirements and specifications
• Write clean, well-documented, and efficient code for various embedded platforms
• Conduct thorough testing and debugging of software to ensure quality and reliability
• Optimize system performance and memory usage to meet stringent requirements
• Stay up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies in the embedded domain
• Participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to improve code quality
• Work closely with the tech-support team to support software testing and resolve any issues
• Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practices in embedded software development
