Job summary

Starpath Robotics is seeking an Electrical Engineer to join the Starmine department in Los Angeles, CA. You will own avionics systems from requirements through flight execution, including motion control, communications, compute, power, and sensor payloads.

You will collaborate with hardware, software, and thermal teams to ensure timely integration and successful validation in simulated spaceflight environments.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical discipline.
• 5+ years of experience developing electrical systems for space applications.
• Experience with electrical board design (schematic capture, PCB layout, electrical circuit simulation, etc)
• Experience with electrical testing, equipment and setup (multimeters, oscilloscopes, signal generators, data acquisition, etc)
• Strong technical communication and the ability to work in a fast paced team environment.

Responsibilities

• Own systems, subsystems, and components from requirements to deployment.
• Conduct trade studies and first-order analyses to define system requirements.
• Determine qualification testing criteria in accordance with spaceflight testing standards.

Electrical Engineer

In this role, you will be a member in the team responsible for the design, analysis, and qualification of all avionics systems at Starpath, across all product lines. Systems include motion control, communications, compute, power management, sensor payloads, and more. You will serve as the responsible engineer on several of these systems from developing design requirements through to the flight execution.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field

• 8+ years of experience developing electrical systems for space applications

• Track record of owning and delivering spaceflight hardware across the entire product lifecycle

• Extensive experience with several of the following:

  • Embedded system design

  • Environmental testing for space environments

  • Power system design

  • Rapid board prototyping

  • Radiation effects, mitigation, and testing
