Job description

Vacancy: Electrical Engineer – Fulltime

At Praxa Sense, we’re redefining non-invasive health monitoring with our optical innovation ALIS – a speckle-based biosensor enabling new frontiers in remote vital sign tracking.

We’re looking for an fulltime Electrical Engineer to guide the hardware development of our optical speckle sensor platform, combining CMOS imaging, laser illumination, and mixed-signal electronics. You will own the electrical design from architecture through validation and production, working closely with optics and algorithm teams.

What you will do
  • Optical Sensor Electronics
Source, design and integrate electronics for optical sensing systems, including CMOS image sensors, laser drivers, timing and synchronization, and low-noise analog-digital front ends.
  • Mixed-Signal & PCB Design
Own schematic design and PCB layout for mixed-signal systems (power, analog, digital), with strong attention to signal integrity, noise, and EMC.
  • System Architecture
Define electrical architectures and interfaces across sensors, processors, and peripherals, balancing performance, manufacturability, and robustness.
  • Bring-up, Testing & Validation
Lead board bring-up, debugging, calibration, and validation in lab environments; support DFM/DFT and transitions to manufacturing.
What we are looking for
  • Experience
3+ years in electronics development for sensors, imaging systems, or optical instrumentation.
  • Analog & digital circuit design
  • PCB design (Altium or equivalent)
  • Low-noise power and mixed-signal systems
  • Interfaces such as I2C, SPI, UART (plus imaging interfaces is a plus)
  • Domain knowledge
Familiarity with CMOS image sensors, optical systems, or laser-based instrumentation. Experience with laser safety and optical timing is a plus.
  • Mindset
Pragmatic, hands‑on, comfortable working across hardware–software–algorithm boundaries in a lean team.
What we offer
  • A salary matching your experience with potential equity participation.
  • A pivotal role in building a deep‑tech biosensing product.
  • Direct collaboration with experts in optics, signal processing, and data science.
  • The chance to shape how world‑leading companies integrate our technology.
  • Hybrid work culture: in-person collaboration in Delft at least 3 days/week, work from home when you need focus.
  • 25 paid holiday days per year.
  • Budget for personal development and your home office.
  • The satisfaction of building technology that directly improves health monitoring.
