Job summary

High Tech Source in Nijmegen seeks an Electrical Architect to define and evolve the electrical and system architecture of advanced semiconductor test equipment. Qualifications

  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of experience in semiconductor equipment or high-tech environments.
  • Strong expertise in electrical system architecture, high-power and analog electronics.
  • Experience across the full product development lifecycle from concept to validation.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work with international stakeholders.

Job description

As a Electrical Architect at our client in Nijmegen, you will define and evolve the

electrical and system architecture of advanced semiconductor equipment used in high-volume

manufacturing and R&D environments. Your primary focus (80–90%) is electrical system architecture, with a strong emphasis on high-power and analog electronics. You will translate customer and product requirements into scalable, reliable system designs and act as the technical authority throughout the complete development lifecycle—from concept and architecture to validation and verification.

You will provide technical leadership to a multidisciplinary engineering team, guiding electrical,

software and firmware engineers to ensure successful system integration. In addition, you will

collaborate closely with customers, suppliers and development partners to deliver innovative,

future-proof test solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Define and maintain the electrical and system architecture of advanced semiconductor test equipment.
  • Translate customer needs and product roadmaps into technical requirements and system concepts.
  • Lead the complete technical design process, from architecture and concept development to validation and verification.
  • Drive architectural decisions in high-power, analog and digital electronics.
  • Provide technical leadership and coaching to a team of electrical engineers.
  • Support concept studies, proof-of-concept activities and technology development.
  • Identify technical risks and define mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant standards, including CE and SEMI.
  • Collaborate with customers, suppliers, manufacturing partners and R&D teams.
  • Represent the technical architecture in discussions with internal and external stakeholders.
Your profile
  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering or a related
  • 10+ years of experience in semiconductor equipment, test equipment or another high-tech
  • Strong expertise in electrical system architecture, with extensive knowledge of high-power and analog electronics.
  • Experience across the full product development lifecycle, from concept through validation.
  • Broad understanding of digital electronics and system integration.
  • Proven technical leadership experience without requiring direct line management.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in technical trade-offs and risk management.
  • Able to translate customer requirements into robust and manufacturable solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfortable working with international stakeholders.
  • Passion for innovation and developing world-class semiconductor equipment.
