About the team

The Product Data & Operations team enables trusted, accessible and scalable product data across the end-to-end product lifecycle. The team establishes and operates the standards, governance, processes and capabilities that connect critical data from product creation through to commercial activation and consumer-facing experiences. Working closely with Product, Planning, Commercial, Digital, Technology, Data and Process Development teams, we support timely product launches, operational excellence and consistent product experiences across channels and markets. The team also ensures that product data remains accessible across downstream systems and provides a central coordination point for resolving cross‑functional product‑data issues.

About the job

As Director, Product Data & Operations, you lead the function and translate business and product strategy into clear departmental plans, priorities, governance and measurable results. You set the functional vision and operating model, lead a team of managers and product data professionals, and are accountable for the team’s performance, capability, resources and sustainable delivery. You ensure that Product Data capabilities enable end-to-end product commercialization, support internal analytics to effectively manage the business, digital commerce and consistent consumer experiences. The role establishes the product data strategy for the Tommy Hilfiger brand, shapes and sponsors the Product Data change agenda, aligns investment and technology choices with business priorities, and creates clarity where business value, urgency, risk, dependencies and available capacity require trade-offs.

Key responsibilities

Including, but not limited to: Define the Product Data & Operations vision, functional strategy and multi‑year roadmap in line with broader enterprise, product and commercial priorities. Translate strategy into departmental objectives, operating plans, performance measures and clear accountabilities, ensuring delivery of agreed functional outcomes and business adoption. Lead delivery through managers, product data professionals, and business partners across the product organization by setting direction and decision rights, delegating ownership at the appropriate level and holding leaders and team members accountable for agreed results. Define and continuously evolve the Product Data operating model, including governance, data ownership, standards, controls and escalation paths, balancing business agility with data quality, compliance and operational control. Direct and evolve data structure and attribution for the product organization to establish the needed data foundation for future technology and analytics roadmap, aligning with Technology and the partner brand for consistency and efficiency. Ensure the Product Data & Operations team delivers reliable day‑to‑day data operations, maintains accurate, complete, timely and accessible product data across downstream systems, and serves as the coordination and escalation point for cross‑functional data issues; use operational insights to drive root-cause resolution, standardization and automation, reducing recurring manual intervention over time. Set the Product Data capability roadmap across people, processes, technology and data; ensure the function has the skills and partnerships to identify, evaluate and scale automation and AI‑enabled solutions—including appropriate Python‑ and API‑based approaches—that improve data quality, speed, scalability and efficiency while meeting security, governance and maintainability standards. Set the business outcomes and strategic requirements for enterprise product‑data platforms and future solutions; partner with Technology and Digital leaders to guide roadmaps, investment choices, implementation, adoption and value realization. Manage allocated resources within delegated authority; prioritize investments and make or recommend decisions to accelerate, sequence, defer, reduce in scope or stop work based on business value, urgency, risk, dependencies and available capacity. Shape and sponsor the departmental change agenda, ensuring managers translate strategic direction into coherent operating plans, clear communication, capability building and sustained adoption across the team and partner functions spanning Business Operations, Merchandising, Design, Product Development, Supply, Technology, Analytics, and Regions. Establish reliable management information, dashboards and operating‑review mechanisms; redirect resources, address delivery risks and ensure that expected business benefits are realized. Create the conditions for sustainable delivery by aligning commitments with available capability and capacity, addressing structural constraints and ensuring workload, quality and wellbeing are managed responsibly across the organization. Develop strong cross‑functional relationships across the product organization, establishing accountability for inputs and leading clear communications to ensure delivery across distributed ownership. Build trusted relationships with senior business and technology stakeholders, align cross‑functional priorities and trade‑offs, and represent Product Data & Operations in executive governance forums, steering committees and transformation programs. Build organizational capability through workforce planning, recruitment, performance management, coaching and succession; foster an inclusive culture of accountability, collaboration, innovation and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate

10+ years of experience in Product Data, Master Data, Data Operations, digital transformation or a related field, including substantial experience leading managers and multidisciplinary professional or operational teams. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience. Proven ability to define functional strategies and operating models and translate them into clear plans, governance, execution and measurable business outcomes. In‑depth knowledge of product‑data governance, enterprise data management, product‑lifecycle processes, product commercialization and downstream commercial or consumer‑facing applications. Experience managing strategic portfolios, budgets, resources and technology or data investments in a complex, international organization. Demonstrated success in shaping and sponsoring significant change, leading teams through ambiguity, aligning competing priorities and making transparent scope, sequencing and resource trade‑offs while supporting sustainable delivery. Strong understanding of enterprise product‑data ecosystems and platforms such as SAP, product lifecycle management, product information management and master data management solutions, including data integration and automation. Proven ability to use performance information and business insight to identify risks, challenge assumptions, make decisions and redirect organizational attention or resources.
