Google LLC seeks a Director of Economic Community and Workforce Development to lead the company’s global economic development program for data centers. You will work with internal stakeholders and strategic vendors to support growth and provide the infrastructure for global reach.

You will embed workforce development best practices, identify talent needs, and collaborate with education partners to create sustainable pipelines for data center communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Public Policy, Business, Political Science, or Economics or equivalent practical experience.
• 15 years of economic development experience within a corporate organization (e.g., tax, policy, legal, real estate, etc.), law firm, accounting firm, consultancy, or government agency.
• Experience in people management.
• Experience developing business to business partnerships.
• Ability to communicate in 3 languages prevalent in the region fluently (e.g., Dutch, French, German, Danish, Swedish, Finnish, Norwegian).

Responsabilités

• Unlock new markets, reduce overall total cost of ownership, and improve community and stakeholder engagement.
• Support the development of content to broaden and amplify our messaging and planning around the data center lifecycle, and take a leading role in industry coalitions, legislative efforts, policy advancement, and mitigation of industry headwinds.
• Practice retail data center diplomacy, community by community, listening sessions, meeting with local leads or grassroots organizers.
• Uncouple agitation from core grievance and create strategies that build community in both productive and challenging environments.
• Grow, develop, and manage a global community engagement team that includes Public Affairs, Workforce Development to drive in-market sentiment and optimize local market operating environments.
