Job summary

ALGOTEQUE Innovation Hub seeks an experienced DevOps Engineer to design and maintain an AWS-based cloud platform. You will implement IaC with AWS CDK, build CI/CD pipelines, and improve automation across teams.

Join a collaborative environment focused on reliable, scalable cloud solutions, security, and cost management while supporting a hybrid work model with two days in Almere.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or platform engineering.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain a modern AWS-based cloud platform.
• Create and manage Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK (Python).
• Set up and continuously improve CI/CD pipelines with AWS-native and Git-based tools.
• Make developers' lives easier through self-service tools and platform automation.
• Strengthen observability across monitoring, logging, and tracing using tools like CloudWatch and Datadog.
• Keep the platform secure and compliant by applying DevSecOps practices and automation.
• Own reliability and performance, working to prevent incidents and recover from them faster.
• Keep cloud spending efficient and under control.
• Help drive and speed up the move from on-premises infrastructure to AWS.
• Work closely with development and product teams in an open, supportive way.
• Help grow a healthy DevOps culture built on ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement

We're looking for an experienced DevOps Engineer for a project for our client in the edtech space. If you enjoy building reliable, scalable cloud platforms and helping engineering teams ship faster, we'd love to hear from you.

Profile / Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, cloud engineering, or platform engineering
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS as your main platform
• Practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (AWS CDK or CloudFormation)
• Experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• Good working knowledge of Linux systems
• Familiarity with observability and monitoring tools such as CloudWatch and Datadog
• A solid understanding of cloud security principles (IAM, Zero Trust, compliance)
• Experience working with containerized environments (ECS Fargate)
• Strong communication and teamwork skills

Nice To Have

• AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer)
• Experience with hybrid setups (on-premises + cloud)
• Experience with cost optimization in AWS
• Experience contributing to platform engineering or internal developer platforms
