Job summary

Antonie, a company integrating AI with agriculture, seeks a Medior DevOps & Backend Engineer to bridge application development and infrastructure in Gelderland.

You design resilient AWS infrastructure, build backend services with FastAPI and MongoDB, manage Kubernetes clusters with EKS/ECS, and implement CI pipelines. You’ll collaborate across teams to improve scalability, observability, and security while delivering quality, maintainable solutions.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of experience with Python and modern web asynchronous frameworks like FastAPI (or similar).
• Experience with Terraform, AWS (Fargate, EKS) and Kubernetes.
• Proficiency with MongoDB and data modeling.
• Experience with Git, GitHub, and GitHub Actions.
• Experience with Pytest or similar testing frameworks.
• Experience designing CI/CD pipelines, observability, and monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Design and manage resilient AWS infrastructure and CI/CD pipelines.
• Build and optimize high-performance backend services using FastAPI and MongoDB.
• Manage containerized workloads on AWS EKS/ECS and Kubernetes clusters.
• Improve scalability, performance, observability, and security of infrastructure.
• Proactively monitor systems to identify issues and opportunities for improvement.

• Design and manage resilient AWS infrastructure using Terraform
• Build and optimize high-performance backend services using FastAPI and MongoDB
• Manage containerized workloads and services on AWS EKS and ECS
• Design and implement continuous integration pipelines, testing infrastructure, and support
• Improve scalability, performance, observability, and security of infrastructure to support rapidly increasing demands
• Proactively monitor systems to identify issues and anomalies and opportunities for improvement

• Cross-Functional Mindset: You are eager to sit down with our Data Scientists or our biologists to understand their bottlenecks while also helping fellow engineers optimizedeployment pipelines
• At least 4 years of experience with Python specifically with modern web asynchronous frameworks like FastAPI (or similar)
• Experience with testing frameworks such as Pytest
• Proficiency with MongoDB, including schema design and performance tuning
• Knowledge of MongoDB indexing strategies and aggregation pipelines for large datasets
• At least 5 years of experience with AWS (Compute, Networking, IAM). Specific experience with AWS Fargate and EKS is highly preferred
• At least 3 years of experience managing a Kubernetes cluster
• Strong knowledge of Git, GitHub, and Github Actions
• At least 3 years of experience with Terraform
• Having experience maintaining an MLFlow or similar product is a good plus
