Samba is seeking a data scientist to own end-to-end delivery of significant data science projects with minimal guidance. You are an autonomous contributor with deep expertise in at least one core domain and the range to build production-ready ML solutions using modern AI methods.

You will collaborate closely with product and engineering teams. You’ll design and implement advanced ML workflows, build reusable tools, and drive DataOps and MLOps practices across projects, while mentoring junior

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in statistics, data science, CS, or mathematics, or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years hands-on data science delivering multi-sprint projects independently.
• Advanced Python with production-quality code, testing, and documentation; strong SQL and PySpark.
• Databricks workflows, Delta Lake, job orchestration; working knowledge of AWS or GCP.
• Solid ML core skills (regression, classification, clustering) with MLOps practices.
• Exposure to RAG, LLM-augmented models, vector databases and semantic search.
• Strong communication, teamwork, and ability to mentor junior data scientists.

Responsabilités

• Own end-to-end delivery of significant data science projects, from problem scoping to production deployment.
• Decide and document methodology, model selection, and evaluation with technical solution documents.
• Lead solution design for initiatives, breaking epics into well-scoped user stories with acceptance criteria and DataOps/MLOps practices.
• Build ML workflows including entity resolution, probabilistic record linkage, embedding-based matching, semantic similarity, and LLM-augmented pipelines.
• Develop reusable tools, libraries, and documentation; provide constructive code review feedback.
• Partner with product, engineering, and operations to translate business requirements into technical specs and scalable pipelines.
