Job summary

Samba in Amsterdam is seeking a Junior Data Scientist to own end-to-end data science projects from scoping to production deployment. You will work with product and engineering, applying modern ML/AI methods and MLOps practices to deliver robust, scalable solutions.

Required: a quantitative degree and 2+ years of data science experience; strong Python, SQL, PySpark, and production-grade coding with solid documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field required; master's preferred.
• 2+ years of hands-on data science experience with end-to-end project delivery.
• Proficiency with Python, SQL, PySpark and production-quality code; strong documentation.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of data science projects from scoping to deployment.
• Decide on methodology, model selection, and evaluation with clear docs.
• Lead solution design and break epics into user stories with acceptance criteria.
• Implement ML/AI workflows including entity resolution and semantic similarity.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and operations; ensure scalable pipelines.
