Job summary

TEKsystems is seeking a Data Engineer to help build a modern data platform. You will work with the manager, data team, BI, and engineering groups to shape how data is used across the organisation and influence stack decisions.

You'll join an early Data Platform team, define architecture, implement core pipelines, and establish best practices that scale with growth. This role emphasizes hands-on delivery, collaboration, and continuous learning in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years experience building data pipelines and platforms.
• Experience with data platforms and migrations.
• Ability to explain technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and choose data tools with the team.
• Build and maintain data pipelines; mentor peers.
• Add data quality checks with tests as standard practice.
• Break work into small, deployable increments.
• Monitor pipeline outputs after deployments.
• Respond quickly to pipeline failures and investigate root causes.
• Review pull requests and pair with peers on complex tasks.
• Communicate changes to downstream consumers.
• Share learnings from past platform builds and translate into team practices.
