Job summary

Xccelerated is seeking a Senior Data Platform Engineer to lead cloud data platform initiatives for a large energy client. You’ll design, build and operate scalable AWS-based infrastructure and contribute to architecture and roadmap, while spending one day a week coaching consultants.

Four days per week you’ll work hands-on on the platform, and one day on training, with a clear path toward an internal Lead role. Fluency in English is required; Dutch is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cloud, IT, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in Platform/Cloud/Data Engineering or DevOps.
• Strong experience with AWS cloud services.
• Hands-on experience with Terraform (Infrastructure as Code).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
• Enjoy explaining, training and coaching others, and you're able to assess technical talent.
• Familiar with Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow, dbt or Kafka is a plus.
• Fluent in English; Dutch is a plus.

At Xccelerated, we're looking for a Senior Data Platform Engineer to help evolve and scale a cloud data platform at a large, customer-facing energy organisation. Four days a week you'll build and run the platform. One day a week you'll invest in our community of consultants as a trainer, coach and technical assessor, with the opportunity to grow into an internal Lead role.

• Take ownership of a modern data platform that serves millions of customers
• Work on real-world use cases ranging from real-time data processing to advanced analytics and data science
• Gain hands‑on experience with AWS, Terraform, Python and event-driven architectures
• Combine deep technical work with training, coaching and mentoring

What You’ll Be Doing

• Design and implement secure, scalable cloud infrastructure on AWS

• Give technical training to our consultants in Data & Cloud
• Coach and guide consultants in their technical and professional development
• Support our recruitment team with technical assessments and candidate evaluation
• Share best practices and help raise the technical bar across the community
• Grow towards an internal Lead role, with more ownership over training, coaching and the technical direction

You are a hands‑on senior engineer who enjoys building scalable platforms and also likes helping others grow.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Cloud, IT, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Data Engineering or DevOps
• Strong experience with AWS cloud services
• Hands‑on experience with Terraform (Infrastructure as Code)
