Job summary

Adyen in Amsterdam is seeking a Data Engineer II to build and maintain high-quality ELT pipelines on our Big Data Platform. You will partner with data scientists, analysts and engineers to deliver reliable data assets that power product insights and business decisions.

You should have 3+ years in data engineering, strong Python, PySpark and SQL skills, and a passion for data quality, testing, and performance tuning in a fast-paced fintech environment.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or in a similar role.
• Strong understanding of Software and Data Engineering practices.
• Proficient in Python, PySpark, Airflow, Hadoop, Spark, Kafka, SQL and Git.
• Clear communicator able to explain data concepts to diverse stakeholders.
• Self-starter with an innovative, launch-fast mindset.
• Promotes data culture and standards within technical teams.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to translate requirements into reliable pipelines.
• Design, build, deploy and operate production ELT pipelines and data architectures.
• Implement data quality controls, testing and monitoring.
• Improve query performance and optimize resource usage.
• Contribute to data governance and documentation.
