Damen Naval in Vlissingen, Netherlands, is seeking a Data Engineer to design and maintain the data infrastructure that connects, organizes, and unlocks data across the organization, directly supporting vessel production and engineering workflows. In this dynamic and technologically complex environment, you will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure data is reliable, accessible, and seamlessly integrated into business workflows. **Key accountabilities** In this Data Engineer role, your responsibilities will include:* Integrate, analyze, and prepare diverse data sources for the data warehouse.* Developing and deploying ETL processes for loading data, such as SQL Server. Build and optimize data models, queries, and pipelines.* Troubleshoot issues and provide internal technical support.* Document ETL processes, data models, and configurations for knowledge sharing.* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to embed data solutions into business processes.* Improve performance of reports and develop automated data processing solutions.* Actively contribute to knowledge sharing and mentor colleagues. **Skills & experience** As a Data engineer you recognize yourself in the following profile:* Bachelor’s degree (5–7 years experience) or Master's degree (3–5 years experience) in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Science, or a related field.* Strong understanding of data engineering principles, data modeling, and database design.* Experience with data warehousing, ETL processes and optimization techniques.* Experience with SSIS, SSAS and Power BI report Server stack on-prem.
