Job summary

Rijk Zwaan, based in De Lier, Netherlands, is seeking a Crop Coordinator Tomato to coordinate product development for the tomato breeding programmes focusing on high-tech greenhouse horticulture worldwide.

You will translate market information into breeding strategies, lead cross-functional collaboration with breeding, production, supply and client managers, and travel internationally to support commercial success.

Qualifications

• A completed WO degree in Plant Sciences, Agricultural Business Administration or similar.
• At least 5 years of relevant work experience, preferably in tomato or another vegetable crop.
• Good command of the English language, both verbally and in writing.

• Coordinate the introduction, positioning and sales support of new varieties in close cooperation with local crop specialists.

Responsibilities

As Crop Coordinator Tomato you are responsible for coordinating the product development for the tomato breeding programmes focusing on high-tech greenhouse horticulture. Together with your colleagues, you work on commercially successful positioning of new and existing varieties in various markets worldwide. Your tasks include:

• Translating market information into concrete strategies for breeding projects focused on high-tech markets
• Coordinate the introduction, positioning and sales support of new varieties in close cooperation with local crop specialists
• Lead focus groups and act as knowledge centre on our high-tech tomato portfolio.
• Maintain close contacts with strategic customers and contribute to customer-oriented solutions
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders such as breeding, production & supply, crop support, and client managers.

The head office of Rijk Zwaan is in De Lier, near Delft. An international family business with a people-orientated corporate culture. Rijk Zwaan is at the beginning of the food chain.
