Job summary

SHV Energy, a global energy group, is recruiting a Corporate Legal Counsel at its headquarters in Hoofddorp. The role offers a broad corporate remit with exposure to board-level decision-making and collaboration across corporate, commercial and project matters.

• Dutch law degree with around 6 years' experience at a reputable law firm.
• Strong grounding in corporate law ('Boek 2 BW'), drafting and negotiating documents.
• Fluent in Dutch and English; self-starter with solid business acumen.

Responsibilities

• Provide practical legal advice on corporate, commercial and project matters.
• Support the Management Board, General Counsel and global staff functions.
• Coordinate external counsel across multiple jurisdictions.
• Involve governance, competition law and M&A activities.

As Corporate Legal Counsel, you provide practical legal advice on corporate, commercial and project matters in a business with significant operational and safety exposure. You support the Management Board, General Counsel and key global staff functions, including Ethics & Compliance, Finance, Procurement, and Sustainable Fuels & Renewables. Responsibilities span corporate and commercial law, group governance, competition law and M&A, as well as coordination of external counsel across multiple jurisdictions.

Profile

• Dutch law degree and around 6 years’ experience, gained at a reputable law firm
• strong grounding in corporate law (‘Boek 2 BW’), drafting and negotiating documentation, interest in AI and legal tooling is a plus
• self-starter with solid business acumen and the ability to balance short‑term business needs with long‑term company interests
• fluent in Dutch and English
