Job summary

BlockTech is hiring a Software Engineer for our Core team in Amsterdam to own the systems that keep positions, PnL, and hedging accurate across venues. You will build, run, and improve the platform, ensuring data integrity and rapid tracing of issues.

You will work closely with traders and researchers, delivering robust risk views, reporting, and production-ready software. A strong quantitative background and proficient Python, Grafana, and PostgreSQL are essential.

Qualifications

• Engineered position, trade, and PnL systems with quantitative focus.
• Educational background in Mathematics, Econometrics, or Computer Science is preferred.
• Professional experience with Python, Grafana and PostgreSQL is required.
• Strong debugging skills and ownership are essential.

Responsibilities

• Own books: maintain and evolve position, trade, and PnL systems across venues.
• Build hedging, Greeks, margin models, and early exercise premium calculations.
• Surface risk views and calculations for traders and risk team.
• Ensure data reliability for desks and researchers, making data available.
• Provide data for internal stakeholders and regulators: PnL breakdowns, trade surveillance, treasury accounting, compliance.
• Own production: spot discrepancies in live data, trace root causes, and ship reliable systems.
