Job summary

Damen Offshore & Specialized Vessels seeks a Combat System Specialist to lead design, integration, verification and maintenance of combat systems on complex naval and specialized vessels. You will coordinate with technical leads, suppliers and project stakeholders to ensure delivery within schedule and budget.

Requirements include a technical EQF level 4 with 7–10 years experience or a Bachelor’s degree with 3–5 years, or a Master’s with at least 1 year, plus strong communication in Dutch and

Responsibilities

• Review and improve basic and detailed Combat Systems packages.
• Support proposal, engineering, production, subcontractor and supplier activities.
• Execute Combat Systems integration activities and ensure compliance with requirements and Damen standards.
• Coordinate project activities related to subcontractor deliverables and obligations.
• Participate in contractual milestones, tests and trials (FAT, HAT, SAT).
• Support warranty-related technical issues and interface definition.

From commercial phase to delivery and warranty, we work in an international, multidisciplinary environment with internal teams, suppliers, subcontractors, shipyards and customers.For our product group Defense & Security, we are looking for a Combat System Specialist.THE ROLEAs a Combat System Specialist, you are responsible for technical activities related to the design, integration, verification, maintenance and refits of combat systems, including above-water and underwater sensors, weapon systems and C2 systems.You ensure these systems are integrated into complex naval and specialized vessels in line with requirements, engineering standards and HSSEQ guidelines. You work with technical leads, specialists, subcontractors, suppliers and project stakeholders to deliver high-quality engineering output within agreed time, quality and cost limits.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESYour main tasks include:Review and improve basic and detailed Combat Systems packages.Support proposal, engineering, production, subcontractor and supplier activities.Execute Combat Systems integration activities and ensure compliance with requirements, Damen standards and HSSEQ procedures.Coordinate project activities related to subcontractor deliverables and obligations.Participate in contractual milestones, tests and trials such as FAT, HAT and SAT.Support warranty-related technical issues and interface definition, establishment and validation.Contribute to process improvement and knowledge sharing within the department.SKILLS & EXPERIENCEYou bring:Technical education at EQF level 4 with 7–10 years’ experience, a Bachelor’s degree with 3–5 years’ experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 1 year of relevant experience.Solid knowledge of combat systems and engineering concepts.Experience with engineering and subcontract management of complex systems, preferably combat systems.Experience in complex project environments and communication with engineers, suppliers, subcontractors and project stakeholders.Good command of Dutch and English, written and verbal.Willingness to travel or work abroad when required.COMPETENCIESYou are customer-oriented, quality-driven and results-focused.
