Job summary

Bilfinger Gears & Services in Rotterdam is seeking a CNC Boring Mill Operator. You will operate a CNC-controlled boring mill to produce precision gearbox components for maritime, petrochemical, and heavy industries.

Join a skilled team with thorough onboarding and opportunities to grow your technical expertise. A two-shift schedule (06:00–14:30 and 14:30–23:00) applies, with Rotterdam residence preferred.

Qualifications

• MBO diploma in Machining, Precision Engineering or similar.
• Several years of CNC machining experience.
• Experience with CNC control systems (Heidenhain preferred).
• Structured, detail-oriented, and quality-driven.
• Willingness to work in two shifts.

Responsibilities

• Machining complex gearbox components on a CNC boring mill.
• Set up tools and improve milling and boring processes.
• Call up, adjust and write CNC programs (Heidenhain).
• Read and interpret complex technical drawings.
• Measure and inspect parts with advanced equipment.
• Contribute to process optimization and efficiency.

CNC Boring Mill Operator (Kotteraar)

Do you enjoy working with precision and advanced machining technology? As a CNC Boring Mill Operator (Kotteraar) at Bilfinger Gears & Services (formerly Stork), you will work on high‑quality gearboxes used worldwide in maritime, petrochemical and heavy industrial applications.

You will operate a CNC-controlled boring mill (Heidenhain) in a modern workshop at our Waalhaven location in Rotterdam. Your craftsmanship directly contributes to the reliability and performance of critical industrial installations. Thanks to thorough onboarding and guidance from experienced machinists, you will continue to develop your technical skills and expertise.

Your responsibilities

• Machining complex gearbox components using a CNC boring mill
• Setting up tools and continuously improving milling and boring processes
• Calling up, adjusting and writing CNC programs (Heidenhain)
• Reading and interpreting complex technical drawings
• Measuring and checking products using advanced measuring equipment
• Actively contributing to process optimisation and efficiency improvements
• Working safely and accurately according to quality standards

What do you bring?

You are a precise and quality‑driven professional who enjoys working with complex machining processes. You take responsibility for your work, think in solutions and like to improve processes together with your team.

You also have:

• A vocational (MBO) diploma in Machining, Precision Engineering, Manufacturing Technology or similar
• Several years of experience with CNC machining
• Experience with CNC control systems (Heidenhain experience is a plus; training is provided if needed)
• A structured and accurate working style with strong attention to detail
• Flexibility and stress resistance
• Willingness to work in a two‑shift system

  • 14:30 – 23:00 (alternating weekly)
• Residence in the Rotterdam NL region
