Job summary

OLYX in Amsterdam is seeking a full-time Broker to join our biofuels team at the Keizersgracht office. You will facilitate and optimise transactions across a diverse client portfolio, structuring and negotiating deals in the global biofuel markets.

We expect a strong economics/finance background, English fluency, and 1–5 years in energy markets. The role offers a competitive salary with profit share, daily lunch, wellbeing perks and a dynamic, international team.

Qualifications

• Excellent command of English; additional languages are a plus.
• Master’s degree in Economics, Finance, Econometrics, Engineering, Business or a related field.
• 1–5 years of experience in energy markets, brokerage, sales, trading, or consultancy is considered a strong advantage.
• Self-driven and resilient, with the ability to perform under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong analytical and structured mindset, with a natural curiosity for sustainability.
• Ability to understand and navigate complex market dynamics.
• Strong commercial mindset with a focus on identifying and closing opportunities.
• Based in the Netherlands (or willing to relocate) and holding a valid work permit.

• Deal Structuring & Execution: originate, structure, and mediate transactions with clients. Identify trading opportunities across global biofuel markets.
• Portfolio Management: manage your client portfolio on a day-to-day basis within your assigned product coverage, with proactive follow-up.
• Performance in a Fast-Paced Environment: thrive in high-pressure settings, bringing structure to evolving situations.
• Market Analysis: stay up to date on biofuel market developments, pricing trends, regulatory changes, and opportunities.

About The Job

We are looking for a full-time (40 hours) Broker to join our physical biofuels team at our head office on the Keizersgracht in Amsterdam. In this role, you will facilitate and optimise transactions across a diverse client portfolio. The role requires a strong understanding of the biofuels sector, including the ability to spot opportunities, structure and negotiate transactions.
