Job summary

The Omgevingsdienst Midden- en West-Brabant seeks a Building Inspector to supervise new constructions from industrial and housing projects. You check compliance with granted permits, speak with permit holders and contractors, and, if necessary, halt work to protect safety.

You perform risk-based periodic inspections, collaborate with colleagues, and contribute to the Bouwen cluster within the Living Environment Quality team.

Qualifications

• Clear communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compliance with national quality criteria 2.3 for permitting, supervision and enforcement.
• Valid driving license (B).
• Independent worker with hands-on mentality.
• Good report writing and clear communication of findings.

Responsibilities

• Supervise new constructions from industrial and housing projects and ensure work complies with issued permits.
• If non-compliant, engage with permit holder and contractors and pause works when necessary to protect safety.
• Conduct risk-based periodic inspections with focus on fire safety and collaborate with colleagues.
• Work within the Bouwen cluster of the Leefomgevingskwaliteit team with other inspectors and permit officers.
