Job summary

Greenpeace International in Amsterdam is offering a Biodiversity Internship to join our Programme Department. The role provides hands-on experience on biodiversity campaigns, innovative environmental practices, and project management while contributing to Greenpeace's mission of protecting the planet.

Ideal candidates are students or recent graduates with an interest in biodiversity, strong English, and the ability to conduct desk research, work independently and within a team.

Qualifications

  • Interest in Biodiversity, with motivation to develop knowledge and gain experience to support your studies or future career.
  • Ability to conduct thorough desk-based research (based on academic papers, news media articles, expert reports) and summarise in a clear and concise manner.
  • Interest in digital trends; have a curiosity and willingness to learn about new platforms, including social media monitoring tools.
  • Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.
  • IT proficiency, including Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace applications and other relevant software, with a willingness to learn about new systems.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.
  • Flexible attitude to shifting work priorities.
  • Proactive and result-oriented.
  • Passion for environmental conservation and alignment with Greenpeace goals and values.

Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the Communications and Engagement Managers, support the team with researching and reporting on the latest engagement trends across digital platforms to support rapid response moments.
  • Conducting research and reporting to support message testing, including frames, narratives, and case studies, with the objective of reaching wider audiences through our campaigns.
  • Monitoring and analysing media and social media data, and developing performance reports to support the Tropical Forests campaign and the CBD COP17 project.
  • This could include supporting areas such as research, information sharing, digital communications, or any other tasks designated by the Project Leader or task giver.
  • Support ad hoc requests from team members according to workload, urgency, and importance.
