Job summary

The Winchester Recreation Department is hiring Basketball League Officials for Boys and Girls Grades 3-8. Join our team as a Basketball Official for our Youth Recreation League—no certification required—just a love for the game and sportsmanship.

Season runs December 1, 2025 – March 21, 2026 with pay of $17.50-$25.00 per hour. Saturdays 7:30am-3:00pm. You’ll officiate games, mentor coaches, and help create a positive, well-run environment for young athletes.

Qualifications

• Must be 16 years of age or older.
• No certification required—just love for the game and commitment to sportsmanship.
• Officiate youth basketball games for grades 3-8.
• Able to communicate clearly with coaches, players, and spectators.
• Reliable transportation and availability on Saturdays.
• Attend staff trainings/meetings and arrive on time for each scheduled game.

Boys and Girls Schedule: Saturdays, 7:30am-3:00pm

• Times are subject to change based on number of teams/schedule

Who: Must be 16 years of age or older

This position plays a key leadership role in shaping our youngest athletes’ first experience with basketball. You’ll guide and mentor parent volunteer coaches, lead age-appropriate skill sessions, and supervise one of our program sites to ensure a positive and well-run environment.
