Eli5 Backend Developer role in Amsterdam or remote (EU timezones) focuses on building lean, maintainable backend systems powering our software products. You’ll work closely with frontend developers, designers, and clients to define backend scope and deliver robust solutions.

Roles involve requirements engineering, solution architecture, integration, and prototyping, with opportunities to grow in technology, startups, and design within a fast-paced studio environment.

Qualifications

• Backend development experience with PHP/Node.js
• Familiarity with Laravel and/or Node.js
• Experience with relational databases (MySQL/MariaDB)
• Ability to design RESTful APIs and/or GraphQL APIs
• Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and tooling
• Proficiency in English and/or Dutch

Responsibilities

• Design lean, maintainable backend infrastructure and integration systems.
• Create maintainable backend systems for our products.
• Define backend scope with team and clients.
• Collaborate with frontend developers and designers.
• Advise clients on technical pros and cons within product strategy.
