Job summary

Newzoo is hiring a Software Engineer in Amsterdam to join our backend team. You will work across the analytics platform and client-facing products, building robust services and data pipelines, while improving reliability and performance.

The role emphasizes AI-assisted development and collaboration through code reviews and pair programming. The stack centers on Python, Flask, SQL databases, and cloud-based data infrastructure.

Qualifications

• 3+ years building and operating production Python services.
• Fluency with Flask and RESTful API design.
• Familiarity with tradeoffs when defining database schemas.
• Experience with modern CI/CD and version control practices.
• Fluent with AI-assisted development tools.
• Commitment to testing and operational rigour.
• Ability to work hybrid from Amsterdam office, 3 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the backend services and APIs that power our analytics platform and client-facing products
• Own and evolve the data collection pipelines that ingest millions of data points daily from gaming platforms and partners
• Improve reliability, observability, performance and cost efficiency across our infrastructure
• Participate in code review, technical discussion and pair programming
• Use AI-assisted development fluently (Claude Code) as a core part of how you ship
