Job summary

Schuberg Philis is seeking an experienced SQL DBA to own the full spectrum of our SQL database platforms within a hybrid cloud landscape (Azure + on-prem). You will design, build and operate resilient SQL environments, decomposing shared workloads into dedicated per-application instances to reduce blast radius and improve recoverability.

You will drive automation and DevOps practices, implement HA/DR and replication patterns, and troubleshoot performance issues, translating application behaviour

Qualifications

• Experience designing and operating SQL database platforms in hybrid cloud environments.
• Strong knowledge of HA/DR concepts and replication across regions.
• Proven ability to automate SQL deployments and processes (DevOps mindset).
• Experience with SQL performance troubleshooting, indexing and query optimization.

Responsibilities

• Design, build and operate SQL database platforms as part of a hybrid cloud landscape.
• Decompose shared SQL environments into smaller workloads per application to reduce blast radius and improve recoverability.
• Implement HA/DR and replication patterns, automating everything with security in mind.
• Troubleshoot performance issues and translate application behavior into database implications.
• Support onboarding of new applications and protect the environment against regressions.
• Collaborate with cloud engineers and other specialists to maintain platform reliability.
