Job summary

NN Public Cloud AWS Foundation team seeks an AWS Infrastructure Engineer to drive modernization and automation for cloud capabilities used by customers. The role sits in Group IT and balances stability with rapid improvement across 750+ AWS accounts and 1000+ Azure subscriptions.

The successful candidate will lead architectural design, stakeholder collaboration, and multi-account governance while embracing a hybrid work model in The Hague.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience implementing AWS cloud solutions.
• Experience with Platform as a Service, scripting with Python and Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and CDK.
• Architectural and platform/solution design knowledge.
• Experience working with stakeholders on enterprise scale.
• Experience working within large multi-account environments.
• Recent AWS Certifications.

• Innovate while maintaining the stability and security of our platform.
• Keep an eye on AWS releases and implement relevant features to improve our platform.
• Continuously improve automation to reduce OPS work of the team.
• Run OPS and standby for the foundation every 5-8 weeks.

For the NN Public Cloud AWS Foundation team we are looking for a skilled AWS Infrastructure Engineer who can drive the improvements and modernization of our platform to enable cloud capabilities for our customers. This job opportunity resides within Group IT, the central IT department of NN. The AWS Cloud Foundation Team delivers the cloud foundation (access management, accounts, security, networking and more) in a standardized and automated way at a large scale (>750 AWS accounts). It’s your job to lead the team to modernize and improve automation further to become future proof, all the while maintaining the stability of the platform.

What you are going to do NN’s cloud journey started in 2015 with a hybrid cloud strategy and transformed to its current state where the platforms are growing daily with more than 750 AWS accounts and 1000 Azure subscriptions. Your team provides secure, scalable and self‑service access to the AWS Cloud. To support this hybrid cloud strategy, you and your team will continue to deliver a solid and secure foundation with enough freedom for application teams to build and manage their solutions.

Responsibilities of the team, including you:

• Innovate while maintaining the stability and security of our platform
• Keep an eye on AWS releases and implement relevant features to improve our platform

Who you will work with

The AWS Cloud Foundation Team consists of six skilled AWS infrastructure engineers. The team is part of the Public Cloud Domain of NN where we have an open culture with honest and fun people. Your direct colleagues will consist of the AWS enablement team and the Azure foundation and enablement teams.

Together with the Public Cloud domain we have multiple days per year where we align on work and celebrate achievements. We also have teamdays and other smaller events within the team and outside of it. Every Wednesday we work from the office in The Hague, but you are free to come to the office whenever you like. All in all, there is plenty of opportunity to work with passion and to have fun while doing it.
