Job summary
Eli Lilly and Company is seeking an Automation Integration System Admin at its Katwijk, Netherlands site. This 12-month contract role focuses on enabling data flow between Manufacturing Science, Quality, Engineering, and Supply Chain using Rockwell-based FactoryTalk View HMI/SCADA and related IT/OT tools, with an emphasis on data integrity and security.

Qualifications
- 5+ years in automation.
- 5+ years in pharmaceutical or other regulated industries.
- Knowledge of GMPs, regulatory requirements, computer system validation.
- Experience with Rockwell Automation platforms including FactoryTalk View SE and PLCs.
- Experience in ISA S95 manufacturing IT/automation integration.
- Experience in managing IT/OT platforms.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Automation teams to design, install, and qualify Rockwell-based platforms and OT/IT integration.
- Own system administration including access controls, lifecycle, data management, and maintenance.
- Manage system security and data integrity.
- Perform audits to ensure compliance with Global Quality and Engineering Standards.
- Lead platform growth and support manufacturing teams as new systems are added.
- Collaborate with IT and Information Security for global initiatives and lifecycle management.
- Develop site procedures governing automation integration systems.

Eli Lilly is investing €2.6 billion in a new state-of-the-art manufacturing facility in Katwijk, Netherlands. This facility will produce oral medicines for cardiometabolic health, neuroscience, oncology, and immunology, incorporating next-generation manufacturing technologies including dock-to-dock automation, paperless manufacturing, and process analytical technology while achieving carbon neutrality and zero waste to landfills.
The Automation Integration System Admin will enable information and data flow between Manufacturing Science, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and Operations by leveraging IT and Process Automation Technologies. This role will support innovation evaluation and application for Manufacturing Process Automation and IT Systems with a focus on Rockwell based FactoryTalk View HMI/SCADA Platforms, Lilly’s OT/IT integration layer, data integrity and end-point cyber security solutions.
During the design and delivery of the project this role will be integrated into the global automation team and then transition fully to a site-based process team position.
- Partner with Corporate Automation, Automation Integrators, and Global Facilities delivery to design, install, and qualify the site Rockwell based FactoryTalk View HMI/SCADA Platforms, Lilly’s OT/IT integration layer, and end-point cyber security solutions
- System Administration ownership of these platforms post-delivery including user access controls, life cycle management, process improvements, data management, and system maintenance.
- Manage and own the system security including data integrity.
- Perform audits and periodic assessments of the systems to ensure compliance with Global Quality and Engineering Standards.
- Lead the management and growth of the platforms and support of manufacturing process teams as new systems are added to the facility.
- Partner with Corporate Automation, Information Technology, and Information Security for global initiatives and life cycle management.
- Develop site procedures that will govern the automation integration systems.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related science field
- Professional fluency in English
- 5+ years in automation.
- 5+ years in pharmaceutical or other regulated industries.
- Knowledge of GMPs, regulatory requirements, computer system validation.
- Experience with Rockwell Automation platforms including FactoryTalk View SE distributed and ControlLogix/CompactLogix PLCs or other similar automation technologies.
- Experience in ISA S95 Manufacturing Enterprise IT/Automation integration principles.
- Experience in managing IT/OT platforms.
- Experience in IT Infrastructure and Networking
- Experience in Citrix Application publishing
- Experience in virtual environments (VMware)
- Experience with Data Historians or related technology.
- Experience in Microsoft operating systems, virtual environments, and networking.
- Experience in manufacturing connectivity software (i.e., OPC Server such as Kepware, Matrikon)
- Experience in relational enterprise databases (i.e., SQL Server).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for internal customers, business partners, and leadership
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, manage competing priorities, and drive results in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
- Ability to collaborate with others.
- Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and organisational skills.
- This is 100% full-time on-site role
- We typically expect travel to be 10-20% during the design and delivery phase for engineering meetings, training, and job shadowing opportunities.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location. The anticipated wage for this position is €67,500 - €99,000
