Job summary

Heerema Marine Contractors seeks an Automation Engineer DET to bridge Engineering and IT & Digital, turning ideas into scalable, sustainable digital solutions. You’ll guide teams, ensure ownership, and align with our digital strategy across engineering disciplines.

You will enable citizen developers, build Python modules, and drive automation projects to completion with offshore applicability, tests, and clear documentation.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science.
• Deep expertise in Python (building packages/frameworks). Knowledge of C++ is a plus.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Enable citizen developers through guidance, reviews, and reusable components.
• Develop and refine automation tools and data converters.
• Build Python modules within the wider ecosystem, ensuring clean, reusable code.
• Drive automation projects to completion and maintain momentum.
• Write robust, tested code with documentation for offshore use.
