Job summary

PepsiCo Zaandam zoekt een Automation Engineer die verantwoordelijk is voor betrouwbaarheid, prestaties en doorontwikkeling van industriële automatiseringssystemen.

Je werkt nauw samen met productie, onderhoud en engineering, lost storingen op, implementeert verbeteringen en ondersteunt installaties en commissioning.

Vereisten: 2–5 jaar ervaring, ervaring met PLC/SCADA, Siemens S7 of Allen‑Bradley, en vloeiend Nederlands en Engels. Beschikbaar in Zaandam, fulltime.

Qualifications

• Vereisten: 2–5 jaar ervaring in industriële automatisering, productie of procesbesturing.
• Hands-on ervaring met PLC, SCADA, DCS en/of MES systemen.
• Kennis van Siemens S7 en/of Allen-Bradley besturingsplafonds.
• Kennis van industriële netwerken zoals Ethernet, Profibus en AS-i.
• Ervaring met Lean manufacturing en continue verbetering.
• Sterke analytische, probleemoplossende en communicatieve vaardigheden.
• Bachelor-diploma of gelijkwaardige technische kwalificatie in automatisering, elektrische engineering of een gerelateerd vakgebied.
• Vloeiend in Nederlands en Engels.

Responsibilities

• Zorg voor betrouwbaarheid, prestaties en continue verbetering van automatiseringssystemen op de Zaandam-fabriek.
• Storingen aan PLC, SCADA en HMI oplossen om downtime te minimaliseren.
• Leiding nemen in root cause-analyses en duurzame oplossingen implementeren.
• Ontwikkelen, onderhouden en optimaliseren van automatiseringssoftware en procesbesturing.
• Ondersteunen bij installatie, upgrades en commissioning van automatiseringsapparatuur en nieuwe technologieën.
• Nauw samenwerken met productie, onderhoud en engineering om operationele efficiëntie te verbeteren.

The purpose of the role is to ensure the reliability, performance and continuous improvement of industrial automation systems within the Zaandam manufacturing site. The Automation Engineer supports production and maintenance teams by resolving automation‑related issues, implementing system improvements and ensuring the integrity of process control systems. The Automation Engineer ensures correct implementation of new installations or any changes to existing installations. He is accountable for the whole automation part for Zaandam including PLC, HMI and scada systems.

Responsibilities

• Ensure the reliability, performance and continuous improvement of automation systems across the Zaandam manufacturing site.


• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to PLC, SCADA and HMI systems to minimize downtime.


• Lead root cause analyses and implement sustainable solutions to improve equipment reliability.


• Develop, maintain and optimize automation software and process control systems.


• Support the installation, upgrade and commissioning of automation equipment and technologies.


• Collaborate with Production, Maintenance and Engineering teams to improve operational efficiency.


• Train and support maintenance technicians in automation troubleshooting and best practices.


• Ensure compliance with safety, environmental and cybersecurity standards.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of experience in industrial automation, manufacturing or process control environments.


• Hands‑on experience with PLC, SCADA, DCS and/or MES systems.


• Experience with Siemens S7 and/or Allen‑Bradley control platforms.


• Knowledge of industrial communication networks such as Ethernet, Profibus and AS‑i.


• Experience working with continuous improvement and lean manufacturing methodologies.


• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.


• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent technical qualification in Automation, Electrical Engineering or a related field.


• Fluent in Dutch and English.

Je ondersteunt productie- en onderhoudsteams bij het analyseren en oplossen van storingen, implementeert verbeteringen en zorgt ervoor dat onze procesbesturingssystemen optimaal blijven functioneren. Daarnaast zorg je voor een correcte implementatie van nieuwe installaties en wijzigingen aan bestaande systemen. Je bent binnen de locatie Zaandam dé specialist op het gebied van industriële automatisering en verantwoordelijk voor onze PLC-, HMI- en SCADA-systemen. Met jouw expertise draag je bij aan een veilige, stabiele en toekomstbestendige productieomgeving.
